Confirm you got the file we published

A code signature tells you who built a file. It does not tell you what the file does — a signed binary can still upload your list, and the certificate says nothing about it. A hash tells you the file on your disk is byte for byte the one we released, which is the part that protects you from a tampered download. Run this in PowerShell and compare the result to the table below.

If you would rather not take our word for what the software does, don't: the source edition is plain Python. Read it, confirm there is no network call, and run it yourself.

Check the zip first, before you extract anything. The second command checks the executable after extraction, and is the one to use if you have already unpacked the download.

Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. Built 11 September 2026. The download is a zip holding the executable and the numbering-plan data files. Both hashes below are of that build.

Source edition v2.1

The resale edition: full Python source, plain databases, no licence system. Runs on Windows, macOS or Linux with Python 3.10+. The three .db.zst files are compressed for download and must be unpacked once before first run.

After you download

Four steps, and the second one surprises people.

Extract all six files into one folder. Phonelint.exe reads the three .vault files from the folder it sits in. Run it from inside the zip, or move the exe away from the vaults, and it starts with no numbering data.
Expect Windows to say “Windows protected your PC”. The build is not code-signed. That is a statement about publisher reputation, not about the file — which is why the hash above is published, and why the source edition exists for anyone who would rather read the code than trust a binary. Click More info, then Run anyway. Expect it again on the next version — each build is a new unsigned file, so the prompt returns after every upgrade, and on each machine you install on.
Enter your key. A purchase gives you one. The free guide gives you a trial key good for 50,000 validations — everything in the app works on it, only the number of validations is capped.
Drop a CSV on the Bulk tab. Encoding, delimiter and the phone column are detected from the contents, and the app shows you which column it picked and three real values from it before it runs. If it picked wrong, change it.

Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. There is no macOS or Linux build of the desktop app — the source edition runs anywhere Python 3.10+ does.

Validation runs entirely against the numbering-plan data shipped inside the app. There is no server to send a list to, which is the whole reason the product exists.
