How much does phone validation cost?
A per-lookup API charges you every time you run a list. At 2026 rates, validating 100,000 numbers for line type runs from about $150 (Telnyx) to about $800 (Twilio) — and again on every re-run, because phone data decays. Phonelint charges once.
| Validating 100,000 numbers | Price model | One run | Weekly, per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twilio Lookup Line Type Intelligence, ~$0.008/no. | Pay per lookup | ~$800 | ~$3,200 |
| Telnyx Number Lookup ~$0.0015/no. | Pay per lookup | ~$150 | ~$600 |
| Numverify $129.99/mo, 250k cap | Metered subscription | ~$130/mo | allowance eaten |
| Phonelint local, unlimited | One-time purchase | $0 after $29 | $0 |
Provider prices verified 2026; confirm current rates on each vendor's site. Those APIs return live carrier data; Phonelint's local pass removes invalids and gives a first-pass line-type read for free, so you only spend API credit enriching the smaller set of numbers you actually want verified live.
How does it work — and how accurate is it?
Phonelint's local engine resolves each number against original numbering-plan block assignments. Invalid-number detection is deterministic and reliable; line type and carrier are a strong first-pass signal, with live enrichment available when you need ground truth.
The free, deterministic first pass
Numbers in unassigned or nonexistent blocks are caught with high confidence — the fastest, strongest part of the tool, and where most of your dead-number savings come from.
- Removes invalid, malformed and duplicate numbers
- Flags mobile, landline and VoIP (first-pass, from assigned block)
- Formats to E.164 and exports by country, line type & carrier
- Auto-collects failed numbers into a suppression list (TXT or CSV)
Live enrichment when it matters
Ported numbers are the honest exception — the block says one thing, the live carrier can be another. For ground truth on a high-value segment, enrich with your own API key.
- Bring-your-own-key: Twilio, Telnyx, Numverify
- Scrub locally for free, then enrich only the survivors
- TCPA high-risk area flag (prefix-level caution indicator, not legal advice)
- 200+ countries covered

Questions
Is Phonelint a subscription?
No. It's a one-time purchase with unlimited local validation and no per-number fees. Optional live enrichment uses your own provider API credits.
How accurate is the carrier and line-type data?
Invalid-number detection is deterministic and reliable. Line type and carrier come from each number's originally-assigned block — accurate for most numbers, with ported numbers the known exception. Run the built-in enrichment for live, ground-truth carrier on any segment that matters.
Do I need a Twilio or other API account?
No — local validation needs nothing. You only add your own Twilio, Telnyx or Numverify key if you want optional live enrichment.
How do I remove landlines from a list?
Load the list, run bulk validation, and export filtered by line type. Landlines and VoIP are flagged so you can drop them before an SMS campaign — the top cause of bounces and carrier flags.
Does it run on Mac or Linux?
Windows only at the moment.
What's your refund policy?
14-day money-back guarantee. If it doesn't clean your lists as expected, you're covered.
