Phonelint

Terms of Service

Effective 8 September 2026 · Phonelint · hello@phonelint.com

These terms govern your purchase and use of Phonelint software. By buying or using Phonelint you agree to them.

Who you are buying from

Phonelint is software sold by an independent developer trading as Phonelint. Payments are processed by our resellers — Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy and Selar — who act as merchant of record for your purchase. Your receipt and payment terms come from whichever of those you bought through.

What you are buying

Both are premade, downloadable software products. We do not sell consultations, custom development, subscriptions or managed services.

Your licence

A desktop purchase grants one licence key, activated on one device at a time. You may move it to a different machine using Deregister in the licence screen. You may not share, resell or publish your key. Keys used on multiple devices, or distributed publicly, may be revoked.

The Source licence grants the additional rights described in the LICENSE.txt file included with that product, which takes precedence for that purchase.

What the software does and does not promise

Phonelint validates numbers against published numbering-plan block assignments. Detection of invalid and malformed numbers is deterministic. Line type and carrier reflect the block a number was originally assigned to, which is accurate for most numbers but not for numbers that have been ported to another carrier. We state this plainly because it matters: Phonelint is a first-pass filter, not a live network lookup.

The software is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for business decisions taken on the basis of its output, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

The free number checker on this site

phonelint.com offers a free single-number lookup. It runs against the same numbering-plan data as the desktop application, so the validity, country, line type and carrier it reports are the same first-pass answers the software gives — one number at a time rather than a whole list.

It is limited to 25 checks per day, or 100 if you provide an email address. It is intended for evaluating the product and checking individual numbers by hand. Automated, scripted or bulk use is not permitted, and requests beyond the daily limit are refused.

The free checker is provided as-is and free of charge. We may change, limit or withdraw it at any time, and we do not guarantee its availability. The same accuracy note above applies to it: invalid detection is deterministic, while line type and carrier reflect the originally assigned block and will not reflect a number that has since been ported.

Acceptable use

You are responsible for how you use the numbers you process. Phonelint does not send messages or place calls. Complying with TCPA, GDPR, local telemarketing rules and any consent requirements for your contact list is your responsibility. The TCPA indicator in the software is a prefix-level caution flag, not legal advice.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date at the top of this page. Your existing licence is not revoked by a change of terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where Phonelint is operated. Nothing here removes consumer rights you have in your own country.
