About Phonelint
Phonelint is Windows software that cleans and validates phone number lists offline. You drop in a file of phone numbers, and it removes invalid, unallocated and duplicate numbers, formats the rest to E.164, and labels each one with its line type (mobile, landline or VoIP) and the carrier its number block was allocated to. All of it runs on your own computer against about 1.88 million numbering-plan blocks that ship with the app. Your list is never uploaded.
What Phonelint is not
- Not Microsoft Phone Link. Phone Link is Microsoft's app for connecting a phone to a Windows PC. Phonelint is an independent product for cleaning lists of phone numbers. The names are similar; the products are unrelated.
- Not an email service. phonelint.com does not offer email addresses, forwarding or disposable inboxes. The only address on the domain is hello@phonelint.com, which is for support.
- Not a live network lookup. Phonelint tells you whether a number is possible and how its block is allocated. It does not tell you whether a line is active today, or which network a ported number has moved to. For that, it can pass a selected subset to your own Twilio, Telnyx or Numverify account.
The products
- Phonelint for Windows: the desktop app, a one-time purchase with no per-lookup fee.
- Free bulk phone list cleaner: formats, de-duplicates and splits a list by country in your browser, without uploading it.
- Free carrier lookup: line type and allocated carrier for a single number.
- US area code reference and guides on E.164, line types and list cleaning.
Who makes it
Phonelint is built and sold by an independent developer. Purchases are handled by Gumroad. Questions, bugs and refund requests go to hello@phonelint.com.
How the data is sourced
Numbering-plan data comes from the public allocation records of national numbering administrators, including NANPA for the United States and Ofcom for the United Kingdom. The method and its limits are written up in the accuracy benchmark.
